Sometimes I forget....

....That I'm the foreigner. It must be the sun it does funny things to my brain.

Its funny little things that remind me I'm not in Scotland any longer.

Like when its 84 degrees outside at 9:23 in the morning and the kids are saying "I'm cold!"

I'm already cursing how hot its going to be and how much I'm going to suffer and they are putting on another layer of clothes - what the freak!

I feel your pain brother, my Florida born wife freaks when the mercury drops below bloody 70. In Florida that is only for about a moth or so.

I'm a Scot in South Africa and I can't stand the winters here. They are fekking cold and dry and I don't care what anyone says. Yeah I might be from Rainy cold Scotland but I love the sunshine and summer.

Come back Summer, all's forgiven.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Hi, S!

I'm in an analogous (try saying that when you haven't woken up properly) position, in that I'm an Englishman (yes, man, despite what my profile says; it was done for me and I can't change it) living in Scotland.

To be honest, we've been very lucky with the weather in the past few years. My Mum was all "it's cold, it's dark, it's raining all the time" before we moved up here, then we had the best April I can remember ever. So it goes.

If the weather is unexpected, it's interesting. If it isn't, it's boring. It's a viewpoint thing, innit?

Best wishes!

Remember that it always rains during fair Fortnight and then feel glad that you are where you are.

Make them stand on the castle walls trying to find Burntisland through the mirk and they will soon know what cold is!
